LISLE, IL – The DuPage County Hounds Baseball Team, DuPage’s summer collegiate wood bat team, announced today Rockford Peaches’ player Helen Waddell-Wyatt will be at the DuPage County Hounds game on Saturday, June 23 to throw out the first pitch, sign autographs, and take pictures with fans.

 

Helen, otherwise known a “sis,” was a member of the Rockford Peaches from 1950 to 1951.  The Rockford Peaches were part of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL), which was turned into a movie in 1992.  “A League of Their Own” turned the AAGPBL and the Rockford Peaches into superstars with the great story line as well as super star actors Tom Hanks, Geena Davis, Madonna and Rosie O’Donnell.

The DuPage County Hounds Baseball Team is DuPage’s summer collegiate wood bat team.  The Hounds play their home games at the 1,100-seat Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.  During the 2012 season, which is the team’s Inaugural Season, the Hounds will play a total of 46-games, of which 23 will be played at home. The Hounds Home Opener is scheduled for Friday, June 1 at 7pm.  Single game tickets are only $8, group tickets start at $5 and season tickets are only $129 per seat.
