LISLE, IL – The DuPage County Hounds Baseball Team, DuPage’s summer collegiate wood bat team, announced today that seven-year veteran of the National Hockey League and former Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Steve Poapst will be throwing out the first pitch and signing autographs on Tuesday, July 17 when the DuPage County Hounds take on the Chicago Zephyrs at 7:00pm at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.

 

Poapst played a total of seven-years in the NHL with the Chicago Blackhawks, Washington Capitals, Pittsburgh Penguins, and the St. Louis Blues.  Currently Poapst is the Assistant Coach of the Rockford IceHogs, which is in the Chicago Blackhawks farm system.

 

The DuPage County Hounds Baseball Team is DuPage’s summer collegiate wood bat team.  The Hounds play their home games at the 1,100-seat Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex.  During the 2012 season, which is the team’s Inaugural Season, the Hounds will play a total of 46-games, of which 23 will be played at home. The Hounds Home Opener is scheduled for Friday, June 1 at 7pm.  Single game tickets are only $8, group tickets start at $5 and season tickets are only $129 per seat.
