Highland, IN– The Panthers added one more All-Star to increase their team total to seven.

Right-handed pitcher Alberto Lamas (South Suburban) found out he got the nod Sunday, July 16.

“Always a great feeling to be awarded an opportunity to play in an all-star game. I am glad to see all of my hard work start to pay off.”

Lamas has started five games for the Panthers. In 28.1 innings pitched, Lamas has a 4.45 ERA with 23 strikeouts.

Lamas has been on a roll as of late as he has put together back-to-back one hit gems. In his last two starts, Lamas has combined for 11 innings while striking out eight.

Combining an all-star nod with two gems in going into the all-star break can potentially enhance your confidence to another level that has not been seen before. However, Lamas confidently claimed that he never failed to trust himself.

“My confidence remains the same. My confidence is high going into every start. I am just excited to get back to work and continue to build on my season.”

Lamas will join fellow teammates Josh Lamb, George Bilecki, Kevin Bushnell, Adan Vega, Hunter Niksch, and Jason Ballard for team West in the 2023 Northern League All-Star Game Tuesday, July 18 at 7:00 p.m. CT at Oil City Stadium.
