Whiting, Ind. – July 22, 2023 – On a rainy night at Oil City Stadium the Oilmen would fall in late innings to the Elkhart County Miracle. The Miracle would defeat the Oilmen 11-10 in Whiting, Ind.

 

The Oilmen’s pitchers struggled with walks throughout the entire game. Oilmen starter Silas Noe was credited with the loss after 4 2/3 innings. Noe walked four while giving up five runs on six hits. Justin Egan finished the game for the Oilmen. Egan would go two full innings while walking three and striking out one. Egan gave up two runs on one hit.

 

“We just had a lot of walks,” manager Adam Enright said. “We need to have more shutout innings if we want to win ball games.”

 

The Oilmen bats had a strong day tallying 10 total hits and 10 runs. Brendan O’Conner had a good day going 2-for-6 with three RBIs. Jayden Comia also had a strong performance after a tough week. Comia went 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

 

“It would be great to be able to score some of the runs we left in scoring position,” Enright said. “Some of those runs would have won us the game.”

 

The Oilmen drop a third straight game at home before they hit the road Sunday afternoon. The Oilmen will look to bounce back against the Indiana Panthers at Highland High School. First pitch is set for 2 P.M.
