Chicago, Ill. – July 11, 2022 – The Northern League has announced its Players of the Week for this past week, the final week leading into the 2022 All-Star Game, which will take place on Tuesday night at 7:10 p.m. at Oil City Stadium.

Lake County’s Hayden Matulich (Purdue Northwest / San Jose, Calif.) has been named the Northern League Player of the Week, while Southland’s Nick Noles (Prairie State / Beecher, Ill.) has earned Northern League Pitcher of the Week honors.

Matulich batted .545 this week, recording six hits including three doubles and one home run while driving in six. Noles started Wednesday’s game against the Panthers, earning the victory with six shutout innings while walking three and yielding two hits in a 2-0 win for the Vikings. He was a unanimous selection for the honor, becoming the first pitcher in the league to accomplish that feat this season.
