LISLE, IL – The DuPage County Hounds Baseball Team, DuPage’s summer collegiate wood bat team, announced this afternoon that Vernon Hills native Jamie Lono from NBC’s hit show “The Voice” will be signing the National Anthem for the team’s Opening Night on Friday, June 1 at 7pm at the Village of Lisle-Benedictine University Sports Complex. Lono, who is from Vernon Hills, put the town on the map when he appeared on NBC’s hit show “The Voice,” which stars music superstars Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Lono ended up as part of “Team Cee Lo Green” along with other artists. After being voted off “The Voice,” Lono has been working the TV and music circuits appearing on such shows at “The Today Show.” In addition to signing the National Anthem, Lono will also be singing one additional song sometime during the game. Other “Opening Weekend” festivities and special events will be announced over the coming weeks. During the 2012 season, which is the team’s Inaugural Season, the Hounds will play a total of 46-games, of which 23 will be played at home.
