Kasey Salamie has a true love for the game of baseball and is excited to be a part of the Midwest Collegiate League. He grew up playing and watching the game. He graduated from Northern Illinois University on May 14, 2011 with a Bachelors Degree in History. Kasey played on NIU’s Club Baseball team for four years. During those four years on NIU’s Club Baseball team he served as President of the Club for one year and was previously secretary. Part of Kasey’s duties on the club team were to manage their website; which included writing articles about their games and events. The school did not fund the Club team; so he had to find creative ways to raise money in order for the team function. His duties also included being the manager of the team. Kasey was a part of two division-winning teams. Last years team was one game away from making the National Club Baseball Association World Series. Kasey has a passion for writing and looks forward to using his skills at the Midwest Collegiate League. Recently, he wrote a 30-page research paper about cheating in American professional and collegiate sports. His duties for the MCL will include writing articles about the games, writing about the prospects in the league, and getting the league more exposure to local media companies. Kasey is looking forward to gaining valuable experience and contributing to a great season with the MCL.
