Chicago, Ill. – July 5, 2022 – The Lake County Corn Dogs have swept the Northern League weekly awards, which were revealed by the league office on Tuesday morning.

Doug Loden (Oakland / St. John, Ind.) was named the league’s Player of the Week, while Ryan Troxel (Indiana Tech / Valparaiso, Ind.) was named the Pitcher of the Week.

Loden hit .600 (9-for-15) over four games this week, launching four home runs in a single week to tie the league’s single-season home run record with seven this year. He drove in 12 runs in four games while scoring six times and adding two doubles, two walks and two HBP as part of a monster week.

Troxel earned the win on Thursday at Southland by logging five shutout innings of two-hit ball in a 24-0 victory for the Corn Dogs. He walked one and struck out four while extending his streak to 23 2/3 innings without allowing an earned run this summer.
