WHTING, Ind. — July 20, 2017 — Two new faces have been added to the list of MCL Players of the Week.

Joe Becht (Downers Grove, Ill./Santa Clara) of the DuPage County Hounds has been selected as Midwest Collegiate League Player of the Week. Becht went 8-12 (.750) in three games, with three doubles and two walks. Becht is now batting .471, with 16 RBI and a .561 OBP on the 2017 season.

He has helped the Hounds to a record of 27-13, good for first place in the MCL. Becht joins a slew of Hounds to have won this honor this year.

Dalton Hottle (Monmouth, Ill./Lewis University) of the Bloomington Bobcats is the MCL Pitcher of the Week. Hottle had just one outing this week, but it was one to remember.

He pitched a complete game against the Northwest Indiana Oilmen on Saturday, July 15. Hottle allowed just two hits, struck out seven and did not give up a single earned run.

For Hottle, this may be a performance that puts his season on the right track (just in time for Bloomington). Hottle had an ERA above five going into the game, but that has dropped to 3.47. This start wasn’t just important for Hottle, it helped the Bobcats keep themselves in within arm’s reach of Northwest Indiana who currently leads them in the Midwest Collegiate League standings.

Honorable Mentions
Max Franklin (Northwest Indiana): 5.0 IP, 2 H, 7 K.
Sean Arnold (Joliet Admirals): 7/21 (.333), 2 RBI, and 5 runs scored.
