The Southland Vikings defeated the DuPage County Hounds 12-3 on Saturday night to sweep the best-of-three series two games to none and clinch the 2014 Midwest Collegiate League Championship. The Vikings won the first game 11-3 on Friday night in Flossmoor and have gone a combined 8-0 in the postseason the last two years, en route to two straight titles. The Vikings have become the first team in the five-year history of the league to win two MCL championships.
