Chicago, Ill. – July 13, 2021 – Two additional Midwest Collegiate League products were selected on Tuesday, the final day of the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft, bringing the total number of MCL draftees this season to four.

Outfielder Donovan McIntyre (Kent State / Richton Park, Ill.), who played in three games for the Crestwood Panthers earlier this season, was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 11th round out of Marian Catholic High School. The left-handed hitter posted a .250 average and scored twice in his three games with the Panthers during the month of June.

Right-handed pitcher Malik Binns (Benedictine University at Mesa / Bolingbrook, Ill.) was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 18th round. Binns spent two summers in the MCL with the DuPage County Hounds. He appeared in nine games and made five starts while striking out 31 in 29 2/3 innings in 2019. Binns logged 22 innings over seven MCL games and made five starts in 2020, accruing 29 strikeouts.
