Former DeKalb County Liners pitcher, Drew Provence, recently signed a contract to play for the Normal Cornbelters of the Frontier League.
Provence, who attended North Greenville University in Tigerville, South Carolina, was 2-4 with a 4.67 ERA over six starts with 34 strikeouts and 21 walks. After starting the season 0-3 with a 5.40 ERA, Provence turned his season around with seven innings of three-hit ball and 11 strikeouts against the Southland Vikings on June 19. In his last appearance for the Liners on July 2, he took home a 9-7 win, going 5 innings against the Northwest Indiana Oilmen.
In his two games with the Cornbelters, Provence is 1-1 with an 8.49 ERA, striking out nine and walking seven.
Provence was a member of the 2010 NCCAA Champion North Greenville team, along with his former Liner teammates Marcus Duckworth and Anthony Foulk.
