The Midwest Collegiate League has announced its Players of the Week for the week of July 5.

The MCL Hitter of the Week is the Joliet Admirals’ Kenny King. King had multiple hits in each of his three games this week, driving in a pair of runs and scoring one of his own. In his first game with the Admirals in over three weeks Tuesday, he hit a walk-off single to beat the first-place DuPage County Hounds in the bottom of the ninth.

The MCL Pitcher of the Week is Jordan Petty of the Northwest Indiana Oilmen. Petty had come out of the bullpen for the majority of the season, but he impressed in his first start of the year. Petty pitched eight innings of shutout baseball to help the Oilmen to a 7-3 win over the Bobcats. He struck out 10 allowed only three hits in one of the best performances in the league this season.
