On the last day of June, the Northwest Indiana Oilmen went out with a bang offensively. On a humid evening in Whiting, Ind. the Oilmen utilized their bullpen arms, and an onslaught of hard hits on Friday night.  

 The Oilmen defeated the Indiana Panthers 15-2, hitting two home runs, two triples and extend their win streak to five. The Oilmen are now 14-2 at Oil City Stadium, and hold the first-place spot in the Northern League for the first time this season.  

 The Oilmen blew things open in the second inning, scoring five.  Oilmen starting pitcher Jack West allowed no hits in three innings,  striking out three. In fact, the Oilmen did not allow a hit until the sixth inning.  

 “We use the whole field well, and some guys are just figuring out how to do the most damage possible,” Oilmen manager Adam Enright said.  

 The Oilmen tallied 17 hits Friday, compared to the Panthers’ two. Both Logan Anderson and Randy Seymour homered in the eighth, both hitting the ball over the brick monster in left field.  Jayden Comia was another standout, going 4-for-6 at the plate, bringing in five RBIs.  

 “Me and Randy Seymour talked about some things pull-side and he hit one of the top five furthest balls I’ve ever seen here, and good for Logan Anderson to get one to go over too,” Enright said.  

 The Oilmen improved to 14-2 at Oil City Stadium. 

 The Oilmen host the Lake County Corn Dogs on Military Appreciation Night on Saturday, July 1 at Oil City Stadium for a 7:10 p.m. game time.
