NAPPANEE, Ind. – The Elkhart County Miracle snapped their second five-game skid of the season as they beat the Griffith Generals 9-4. A Jordan Landkrohn error in the third inning opened up the floodgates for the Miracle, as they scored seven runs in two innings. The Generals managed to bring the tying run to the plate in the eighth inning but stranded the bases loaded.

Sava Dupor got tagged for the loss, as he gave up eight runs (six earned), eight hits, and four walks in four innings. The bullpen duo of Caleb Deel and Alex White pitched well, only giving up one run in four combined innings.

Despite the loss for the Generals, the offense had flashes of power. Nic Altobelli had his second consecutive night with multiple extra-base hits as he laced two doubles. “I’m seeing it really well right now,” stated Altobelli after another good day at the plate. “I’ve got a lot of confidence going up. Gonna let it play out.”

Head coach Peter Romsek was largely pleased with the offensive output from his team but cited momentum swings on both sides of the ball that cost the Generals the game. “Overall, offensively it was a decent game,” he said. “I think the error in the third inning was a momentum swing. Just a tough mistake. A lack of focus.” He also cited the failure to produce runs in a bases-loaded situation, as the Generals once again failed to push runs across the plate in key moments of the game.

The Generals drop back to their season-worst ten games below .500 at a 7-17 record. They face a tough challenge against the first-place Lake County Corn Dogs in Griffith tomorrow at 7:10 p.m. to kick off a four-game homestand.
