Highland, IN– No one has played the Panthers closer than the Elkhart County Miracle. The Panthers were 1-2 against them going into Tuesday’s contest with all of the games being decided by one run. All three of the previous matches were played in Nappanee and Tuesday the Panthers got to host the Miracle in Highland for the first time. This game was not close as Miracle pitcher Conor Gausselin threw a complete game shutout and the Miracle poured it on early en route to a 7-0 win.

Alberto Lamas went six innings and allowed seven runs. Lamas allowed nine hits and walked four. The Miracle produced a chunk of the damage in the first two innings as they scored two in the first and one in the second. The Miracle had three hits and two walks in the first two innings. They also capitalized on a Panthers’ error in the first to score a run.

Lamas did not allow a hit in the third and fourth and looked to get through the fifth. The Miracle singled and doubled to lead off the inning. They were only able to bring one in via a SAC-fly.

Lamas got through six, but the Miracle had their biggest offensive inning of the night by adding three more runs. Lamas struggled as the Miracle lineup went groundout, walk, single, RBI-single, groundout, 2-RBI double, groundout.

The Panthers offense was non-existent Tuesday as Conor Gausselin spotted all of his pitches and picked up his league-leading fourth win. Gausselin might just take home his second Pitcher of the Week Award of the season. He struck out five and only allowed a hit to George Bilecki (twice) and Kevin Bushnell

Aubrey Yarbrough had by far his most impressive outing of the year as he had three scoreless innings out of the bullpen. He allowed one hit and struck out two.

The Panthers will be right back on the road Wednesday, June 21 to once again visit the Lake County Corn Dogs.
