The MCL Minutemen are preparing to begin their second season in the Midwest Collegiate League this summer with a home opener against the Crestwood Panthers on Tuesday, June 1 at 5:05 p.m.  

Following the first game, the Minutemen keep it at home when the Chicago American Giants come to town. They then turn around to play the American Giants on the road at Gouwens Park in their third game.  

The Minutemen will host 25 home games that will be played at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights, Ill. Prairie State is home to eight Minutemen on the roster, as well as the manager Deandre Gilmore. All home games at Prairie State College will begin at 5:05 p.m.  

The team will also compete in 22 away games this summer. After their first road game against the Chicago American Giants on June 3, they will match up with the Panthers at Andrean High School on June 7, and then again on June 9. 

The Minutemen will also make their way to Oil City Stadium four times this season. They play their June 17, June 30, July 10 and July 30, all at 7:10 p.m.  

The team doesn’t go more than two games at a time on the road except at the end of the season on July 28-30, and to end the season on Aug. 6-8, where they will play three straight away games.  

They play the American Giants 12 times, the Panthers 11 times, the Oilmen 10 times and the Southland Vikings and Joliet Generals eight times this season.  

The Minutemen are looking forward to coming back and having a very competitive season in the Midwest Collegiate League.
