Chicago, Ill. – June 14, 2016 – The Midwest Collegiate League has announced the Players of the Week for the third week of the season.

Michigan City Lakers outfielder Colin Willis (Purdue North Central / Sheboygan, Wis.) is the Hitter of the Week. Willis hit .563 in five games, driving in six runs and scoring five. Of his nine hits, five were for extra bases and he hit a home run against the Northwest Indiana Oilmen June 8.

The Lakers sit in sixth the MCL standings with a 3-7 record.

This week’s pitcher of the week is Chase Lowman of the DuPage County Hounds. Lowman (League City, Texas / College of DuPage) threw eight scoreless innings against the Bloomington Bobcats June 7, striking out six and not surrendering any walks. The performance dropped his season ERA from 3.18 to 1.86 and led DuPage to an 11-0 victory.

The Hounds are in second place in the MCL with an 8-5 record.
