The DuPage County Hounds announced today the signing of seven different players for the 2013 season roster.  With the announcement of these seven players, the roster now sits at eight players total.  According to the Midwest Collegiate League rules, a team can have a maximum of 28-players.

 

With the current signings, the DuPage County Hounds currently have five NCAA Division I athletes and three NAIA players.

 

Patrick Bellinger currently attends University of Evansville, a NCAA Division I program, where he is a pitcher.  The 6’5” 190lbs right-handed pitcher is from Schaumburg, where he attended Schaumburg High School (SHS).  While at SHS, Bellinger was named to the Daily Herald All-Area Team in 2012.  His favorite player is Nolan Ryan.

 

Nick Woltkamp is a returning player to the DuPage County Hounds.  Woltkamp attends Clarke University, which is an NAIA program.  The 6’0” right-handed pitcher/outfield is a left-handed hitter who racked up 27.0 innings pitched with 3 wins and 15 strikeouts in 2012 for the Hounds.  Woltkamp hit .241 with 13 runs, 13 hits, 3 doubles, 1 triple, 5 RBIs and 5 stolen bases.  He is from Plainfield, IL.

 

Brendan Delany is the second DuPage County Hounds player to return from the 2012 season team.  Delany, who was named to the 2012 Midwest Collegiate League All-Star Team for the North Division, had a 2.45 ERA with 14.2 innings pitcher, one win and 14 strikeouts during the 2012 season.  Currently Delany is a freshman at Ashford University, NAIA program, where he attends with 2012 Hounds All-Star player Gary Mayberry.

 

Tim Delany currently is attending Ashford University, an NAIA program.  He is an outfielder.  Tim’s brother Brendan played for the Hounds in 2012 as well as his cousin Gary Mayberry.

 

Brent Jurceha currently attends the University of Evansville, a NCAA Division I program, where is a pitcher.  The Orland Park, IL native is a right-handed pitcher who played for Carl Sandburg High School in Orland Park.

 

Brian Rodemoyer currently attends Illinois State University, a NCAA Division I program, where he is an infielder.  The 6’4” right-handed batter is from Western Springs, IL.  While in High School Rodemoyer was part of the 2011 State Championship team while attending Lyons Township High School.  Rodemoyer was part of the 2012 Dupage County Hounds team.  He played a total for five games for the Hounds in 2012.

 

Paul DeJong currently attends Illinois State University, a NCAA Division I program, where he is a shortstop.  A member of the 2012 DuPage County Hounds team, DeJong batted .295 with 14 runs, 23 hits, and 13 RBIs.  DeJong is a native of Antioch and his favorite baseball player is Chipper Jones.
