With the conclusion of the 2019 Midwest Collegiate League season, the league has announced its ninth and final pair of weekly award winners with two Bloomington Bobcats represented among the honorees.

Jack Gilmore (Heartland Community College / Bloomington, Ill.) secured the Pitcher of the Week award while third baseman Will Oberg (Heartland Community College / Plymouth, Minn.) won the Player of the Week award.

Gilmore’s one-run complete game against the second-place Southland Vikings on Wednesday, July 31 gave his team a much needed victory going into the MCL Playoffs. Gilmore gave up only ten hits in his outing while striking out three batters, to help the Bloomington Bobcats secure their first MCL regular-season title.

Oberg had an impressive week at the plate for the Bobcats, posting a .400 batting average while notching two triples and seven RBIs. Oberg’s contributions to the Bobcats offense helped the team end the 2019 MCL season on a four-game winning streak.
