Crown Point, In. – June 28, 2022 – The Generals fell to the Corn Dogs in a game Tuesday night.
They dropped the game by a score of 9-1.
Joliet had a couple of debuts tonight including starter Aaron Wojciecowski. Wojciecowski went four and a third allowing just five hits and two runs.
“He competed every single pitch he was out there and had good movement on his pitches,” Manager Joe Silva said. “He was able to induce some double plays that got us out of some innings.”
Even though this wasn’t the hitting performance Joliet wanted today, there was no doubt about the effort they gave.
“Our guys competed the entire game and the message will consistently be to keep competing,” Silva said. “Also having fun playing the game with your teammates.”
Although the Generals have dropped tonight’s game they have a couple more games still on the schedule this week to bounce back.
“There was that one big inning tonight that hurt us at times against the Corn Dogs and other teams,” Silva said.
The Generals look to turn the page tomorrow as they take on the Northwest Indiana Oilmen at Oil City Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. and the broadcast will be available on Facebook Live.
