Crown Point, In. – August 5, 2022 – The Generals got down early and couldn’t start a comeback as they fell to the Corn Dogs in seven innings.
The final was 12-2.
Joliet gave up a four-run first inning and an eight-run fourth inning and they weren’t able to get the offense going in an ugly loss.
“We just want to continue to bounce back after a tough game,” Manager Joe Silva said. “We were never in control and it got out of hand. We just got to start the tone early tomorrow.”
A couple of positives for Joliet were Ashton Schwab and Kai Formella who each threw a scoreless inning. On offense, the Generals had four total hits, three of which came off the bat of Jack Dupuis.
The Generals have a chance to finish the season strong as they travel to IIT to take on the Chicago American Giants in the regular season finale. First pitch is scheduled for noon and the broadcast will be available on Facebook Live.
