Crown Point, IN– July 14– The Panthers came into Lake County shorthanded. It was a game that was unsure to even begin due to looming thunderstorms. Unfortunately for the Panthers, the game started and it was all Corn Dogs from start to finish in a game where they won 13-1.

Max Everaert was given the start and he struggled immensely. The highly-touted Corn Dog offense hit everything the multi-pitch right had to offer. Everaert went four innings where he allowed 10 runs on 10 hits. He walked two and did not strike out a batter. Four runs were unearned as the Panthers defense had a poor effort again by committing three errors in the contest. Anthony Mangano gave up the other three in his four innings of work.

The Panthers offense struggled all night as it took until the ninth inning for them to score their lone run. This run came from a Kevin Bushnell double that brought in Daniel Gay. All four Corn Dogs pitchers found success against the Panthers’ lineup as they held the Panthers to five hits and struck them out 10 times.

The five hits came from Bushnell, Gay, Brendon Gibson, Gabe Cortez, and Alonzo Raigosa. Only Bushnell’s was for extra bases. Meanwhile, the Corn Dogs had three doubles.
