The Lake County Corn Dogs handled the Indiana Panthers on the road on Tuesday, winning 8-3 in a 7-inning game and keeping their win streak alive while carrying the necessary momentum as the end of the regular season approaches.

Taking advantage of shaky pitching, the Corn Dogs immediately scored two runs in the top of the first, only needing one hit from Ranko Stevanovic to get the wheels turning.

Sean Kasper started on the mound for the Corn Dogs, showcasing his control. Kasper allowed three hits and one run through three innings but struck out four with no walks on the day.

After a two-inning staring contest, the Corn Dogs finally burst through on offense, scoring six runs off of five hits in the top of the fourth inning. Zach Zychowski scored on his own triple, and Ethan Imlach sent two of his own home off of a double. Imlach earned himself Macron Player of the Game, going 2-3, with two doubles and two RBIs.

Solid pitching held up for the Corn Dogs, with Brock Begesha, Will Melby, and Gavin Gallagher allowing just two more runs to be scored throughout the rest of the game. With just seven innings of play, every run meant even more for both teams, and the Corn Dogs never looked back from their lead.

Nine games represent the largest Corn Dogs win streak in franchise history, and it comes at the right time with the season winding down and the playoffs approaching on Saturday evening.

The Corn Dogs look ahead NWI Oilmen on Wednesday in Oil City at 7:10 p.m., in the second-to-last game of the regular season.
