Thursday was a great day for Reid Birlingmair, as Birlingmair threw eight scoreless innings to carry Lexington Snipes to a 6-0 victory over DuPage County Hounds at High Desert Field.
The offense exploded for the Lexington Snipes in the seventh. In the inning Lexington Snipes scored four runs. Lexington Snipes scored in the seventh on an RBI double by Deion Thompson, a two-run single by Tyler Horchem, and a wild pitch.
Jason Priest helped Lexington Snipes take the lead for good in the sixth inning. Jared McCunn doubled to get on base in the sixth. He then went from second to third on a groundout by Horchem.
Joe Palasiewicz was the game’s losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out four, and allowed two runs.
