The Midwest Collegiate League playoffs are set to start on Tuesday. The Will County CrackerJacks finished in first place with a record of 23-12. The Rockford Foresters were in first place for the most of the season but dropped to second in the final games of the season. They still finished with a strong 22-13 record. Southland Vikings finished in third at 16-17. The Chicago Zephyrs finished in fourth at 6-24.
 
#1 seed Will County will face off against #4 Zephyrs at Oil City Stadium at 7 PM on Tuesday. This will be an interesting match up because they are coming off a recent benches clearing incident. In that game on July 21st the benches cleared as a result of a CrackerJack player being thrown at and eventually hit.
 
They need their ace Stephen Taylor to have a big impact in this series. Taylor is 7-0 with a 0.50 ERA. They also have another good arm in Drew Sain. Sain went 5-0 with a 3.30 ERA. Szczerba, Truitt, Biagini, Ehlmann, and Hull have been their main offensive threats.
 
The Zephyrs main conributors on the mound have been from Alci Gonzales and Ryan Hudspeth. Gonzales finished the regular season with a 0.64 ERA and Hudspeth leads the team in innings pitched. Ryan Richardson and Luke Collins have been their best hitters.
 
#2 Rockford Foresters will face off against #3 Southland Vikings at 7 PM on Tuesday night at historic Marinelli Stadium. This is sure to be an intriguing match up. The Vikings have won their last two games against the Foresters.
 
The Foresters have a good number of offense threats. Their main threats are Ryan Scarpetta, Zach Wisowaty, Regulo Moy, and Cyrus Wimberly.
 
On the mound they have Dan Okapal who is 4-1 with a 2.19 ERA. Steve Lewis is 2-0. Ziggie Vanderwall has team low 0.56 ERA.
 
The Viking main offense has come from James Dawson, Dontrell Rush, A.J Doyle, George Patteson, Ian O’Connor, Kevin Kaczmarski, Kuris Duggan, and Elliot Armstrong.
 
Aaron Hauge has been dominant on the hill with a 4-2 record and 2.08 ERA. Dave Nelson had a strong season with a 1.96 ERA. Stanten Jones was 2-1 with a 1.20 ERA.
 
The Midwest Collegiate League playoffs will be some exciting baseball as top collegiate players will battle to become a champion.
