Lexington Snipes built an early edge on Wednesday, but DuPage County Hounds roared back to steal a 4-2 victory at Lemont Sports Complex.
While Lexington Snipes led until the eighth inning, DuPage County Hounds worked its way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Matt Wollnik.
Trent Carrier racked up two RBIs on two hits for DuPage County Hounds. He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the eighth inning.
Lexington Snipes’ lineup had no answer for Ryan Taylor. Taylor gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none during his three innings of work.
DuPage County Hounds wasn’t able to score a run off of Brent Fanning during his seven innings on the bump. Fanning allowed six hits, no walks and struck out three.
Ian Hall took the loss for Lexington Snipes. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
The top of the first saw Lexington Snipes take an early lead, 2-0. The Lexington Snipes attack began with a single from Neal Tyrell. The scoreboard lit up again for Lexington Snipes when Tyrell scored on a sacrifice fly by Cale Robinson.
The game was never in doubt after the eighth, as DuPage County Hounds scored four runs on a two-run double by Carrier and two singles.
