Erik Carlson brought it both at the plate and on the mound in the Panthers’ win over the Chicago American Giants.
The Panthers run-ruled the Giants 13-1 in seven innings, and Carlson threw a complete game giving up only one run on five hits. Carlson also went two for three from the plate with three RBIs to lead the team offensively as well. Head coach D’Vante Glenn was ecstatic with the performance.
“He got himself the support that he needed to give us the win,” Glenn said, “He’s a great piece of our team.”
The Panthers took advantage of some defensive miscues from the American Giants as six Chicago errors led to seven unearned runs. Crestwood also relied on spectacular two-out hitting as nine of their runs scored with two outs.
“When we stay within our approach, we can put pressure on the defense,” Glenn said.
Other top performers for the Panthers included Hobbs Dunne, who had three hits and three RBIs on the day. Connor Janik also had three hits on the day adding an RBI. Maurey Garrett and Peter Fusek also added RBIs for the Panthers.
